This is a piece that has been sitting idly on my server and I just recently rediscovered. Each first memory on it’s own is intriguing, but what I am most interested in is collecting a mass of individual perspectives. The first memory becomes a vehicle or tool to compare and understand these perspectives. Follow this link to experience the piece. Flash 9+ is needed to view.
I’m interested in continuing to collect memories in order to further populate this repository. If I collect enough memories, I may rebuild the code in Java so that I can have more flexibility within the 3D world. I envision being able to scan out and pan over hundreds of these boxes. Each memory would be protected within it’s own unmarked box and stored in a specific and unchanging location, yet finding a particular box becomes almost impossible due to the shear number of memories.
Any first memories (up to a 30 seconds long audio recording) emailed to me will be placed in it’s own box and added to the repository.
